We have seen a number of customer sites recently that have become to target of hacker attacks.
Whilst this would only affect the client attacked, it appears that this could be to any domain that is known about on the internet.
If you have any files or folders that you have CHMOD to mode 777 (which allows any user to read/write not just the owner(you)), we suggest you change these to the following should your script or website allow it;
644 for files
755 for folders
This may not always be possible as some scripts to require the use of ‘777’ permissions.
If you notice that your site suddenly has additional .htaccess or .php files - please contact us so that we can investigate and restore from a backup.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do raise a support ticket.
