With all purchases of a shared or reseller hosting account, you will be given a free* domain name.

Simply complete the order process as normal and the domain will be discounted on the final step.

After continued requests by our resellers, we have enabled reverse DNS resolution for AWstats - this will allow you to see which countries your visitors are from.

This will help with your analytical research.

It can take upto 48 hours to start showing reverse records. If after this time your records are not showing - please do raise a support ticket.

We have now increased the disk space offered to all customers on one of our shared hosting accounts.

The new and old limits are as follows for your reference.

Startup:
Old Quota: 100MB
New Quota: 250MB

SiteHost:
Old Quota: 300MB
New Quota: 500MB

SiteHost+:
Old Quota: 500MB
New Quota: 750MB

SiteHostXtra:

Old Quota: 1000MB
New Quota: 1500MB

There are no additional costs for these increases and all existing customers are able to take advantage of this upgrade.

We have seen a number of customer sites recently that have become to target of hacker attacks.

Whilst this would only affect the client attacked, it appears that this could be to any domain that is known about on the internet.

If you have any files or folders that you have CHMOD to mode 777 (which allows any user to read/write not just the owner(you)), we suggest you change these to the following should your script or website allow it;

• 644 for files
• 755 for folders

This may not always be possible as some scripts to require the use of ‘777′ permissions.

If you notice that your site suddenly has additional .htaccess or .php files - please contact us so that we can investigate and restore from a backup.

Over the past two weeks, we have seen attacks on sites that running CubeCart, osCommerce and Mambo/Joomla! increase.

A number of these sites have been “hacked” due to software not being kept up to date and/or unpatched vulnerabilities.

Whilst we do have a number of security rulesets on our servers that should catch the majority of attempted attacks directed to sites that have said scripts installed - the protection is not guaranteed and provided on a “best effort” basis.

All customers are responsible for any scripts installed on their sites manually, via Fantastico or the EasyApp installer.

We would like to ask all customers to check all their sites as soon as possible to avoid any possible dataloss or corruption that may occur.

To help, we have listed a number of scripts that we see repeated problems with;

• Joomla!
• phpBB
• PostNuke
• PHPnuke

If you are unsure of how to upgrade your software or if you do need to upgrade, please raise a ticket via our helpdesk stating the application and full details of the installation so that we can look into this for you.
